How to Stop Washing the Redskins’ Teeth
The Redskins trademark for “The Washington Redskins” is owned by the New York Mets.
In fact, the Mets have owned the trademark since 2010, when they bought the rights to the name for $500 million.
The trademark was created in 1909 and was granted to the team by the National League in 1912.
But it has not been used since it was created.
When the Mets purchased the rights in the 1920s, they renamed it the Brooklyn Dodgers.
That trademark was later extended to the New Orleans Saints, who have the rights for another three decades.
