How Facebook’s deal with Amazon’s acquisition of Instagram will affect other businesses
India’s largest social networking site is expected to launch a standalone Instagram app on Wednesday.
The launch is expected around 1:30 pm local time (08:30 GMT), according to reports.
The deal with Facebook, the world’s largest online advertising platform, has been in the works for nearly a year, with the Indian government hoping the social network would attract advertisers to its advertising platform.
However, the social networking giant has been reluctant to sign the deal, which was expected to create tens of thousands of jobs.
Facebook is seeking to woo advertisers who have been reluctant because the platform is heavily regulated and the social media platform has not yet developed its own products.
Facebook is also yet to unveil its own mobile app, which is expected in late 2019.
