US court dismisses trademark registration application for ‘global search’

US trademark court dismissed an international search trademark application for “global search” that was filed by the US Chamber of Commerce in the US District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington DC.

The US court ruled on Monday that the trademark registration filed by an international group, Global Search, was invalid and that the search terms were no longer applicable in the United States.

The ruling came after the Chamber of Trade and Industry and its legal team filed the trademark application on behalf of Global Search in August 2017, but a court order had not yet been issued.

The search term is “global, search” and the company is seeking a permanent registration in the Federal Register, which requires the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to issue a final approval, and that a court approve the application.

The company did not respond to a request for comment on the ruling.

The trademark application filed by Global Search was initially filed in December 2016, but the group filed an amended application in September 2018 to remove “global” from the name and replace it with the phrase “search” instead.

The filing states the trademark was intended to be used in commerce and is not related to the business of searching the internet or the content of websites.

The Chamber of Search, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and is an international trade organization, has filed several trademarks to trademark terms related to its search service.

In March 2018, the group applied for the trademark “search-enabled search engine” in the U,D.C. market.

In August 2018, it filed a trademark application in the British Columbia market for “search engine search.”

Global Search’s first trademark application was for a “global global search” trademark, but that trademark was eventually rejected.
